These days, my dad has become my mentor in stocks, as I don’t even look at stocks from a very young age during my days in Malaysia. He had gone through 1975, 1988, 1997, 2007 recessions and now the current COVID-19 situation. The fundamental and technical analysis had become essential tools to analyse stocks and not just buying on emotions because this is called gambling.
Moving forward, I still have a lot to catch up on. He is 81 now; I hope to appreciate every moment with him together, regardless of near or far. I have no regret in giving him a smartphone 2 years ago. He almost gave up on using the smartphone and wanted to remain using his classic mobile phone. With my persistence, he now enjoyed using it without looking back.
His time is just full of activities. 30 minutes daily gym. At least 2 hours of reading. Few hours looking at stocks. Despite that, have time to go for seminars. Sometimes I just need to make an appointment with him when I am back in Malaysia, in case he is busy. What a man!
