Receiving Calls
If you still receive both calls from mom and dad, be grateful—you are the luckiest person in the world. This phrase just struck me like a thunderbolt. It reminds me of how lucky for those who still have both parents and still receiving calls from them.
We often take things for granted when they are around. We need to learn to be appreciative and be grateful for everything we have and everything we are going to receive. If we all stop for a moment and look around us; we would find endless things we have that others are not as fortunate to have.
People perhaps complain always about having nagging parents or the wrong things that they have done which annoys everything in our life.
Be Grateful
I don’t realize how fortunate I am to still be on the receiving WhatsApp messages from my dad. Whether he is telling me the good books that he has read or spotted the best stock to purchase or how he enjoys himself going to the gym or enjoyed his food from a famous restaurant. We seldom call through the phone as he has some hearing difficulty.
However, almost 81 years old, dad shows no signs of slowing down on that creative way of looking at the world and living life.
The Bottom Line
Appreciate your parents while you are fortunate enough to have them as part of your life. Calls from Mom and Dad, always be grateful.

I completely agree! I’ve been living in a different continent from my parents for half of my life and phone calls and Skype calls are integral to our relationship.

What a lovely blog post on appreciating our parents! I have older parents too, my mom didn’t have me until she was in her forties so I totally understand where you are coming from! I spend a lot of time with my Dad and FT with my mom daily! We are blessed!
